Marc Aboflan is a Togolese media and digital governance professional. He is Managing Director of the Media and Digital Institute (MDI). He previously led the Journalism Trust Initiative in Africa for Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and is the author of Développer et manager un média en ligne (2022).
Medium biography (about 150 words)
Marc Aboflan is a Togolese media and digital governance professional working at the intersection of journalism, artificial intelligence, information integrity and digital transformation in Africa.
He is Managing Director of the Media and Digital Institute (MDI), under which the Africa Digital Forum, a continental event on digital transformation, AI, innovation and investment, is planned in Lomé in May 2027.
He previously led the Journalism Trust Initiative in Africa for Reporters Without Borders (RSF), promoting transparency and professional standards among African media, and worked as a project coordinator at Fondation Hirondelle. He has also directed the Togolese news site Élite d’Afrique and served as secretary general of the Conseil National des Patrons de Presse (CONAPP).
He holds the International Master’s in Media Management from ESJ Lille and the IAE of the Université de Lille, and is the author of Développer et manager un média en ligne (Éditions Universitaires Européennes, 2022).
